00823: How to turn off logging for the Basis License Manager in Windows platforms

Title:

How to turn off logging for the Basis License Manager in Windows platforms

Description:

The Basis License Manager (BLM) log file, blmgr.txt, can build up in size rather quickly. Each connection to the PRO/5 Data Server, for example, generates two entries in the log file. Once you’re confident that the BLM is running smoothly, you can turn off the Debug Log File option.

Resolution:

To disable BLM logging on a Windows NT machine:

Start/ Settings/Control Panel/ FLEXlm Applet/Setup <tab>
Simply delete the path in the Debug Log File field and click OK.

To disable BLM logging on a Windows 95/98 machine:

Start/ Settings/Control Panel/ FLEXlm Applet/Setup <tab>
Simply delete the path in the Debug Log File field. To close the window, click the ‘X’ in the upper right hand corner.

Important: In Windows 95/98, always close the FLEXlm Applet in Control Panel ONLY by clicking on the ‘X’ in the upper right corner of the FLEXlm Applet window. Never exit this applet by clicking ‘APPLY’ or OK’ .
