For decades, Len built and delivered mission-critical software powered by BBj. When the need for modern web applications grew, he initially turned to Angular and external front-end teams—but everything changed with the Dynamic Web Client (DWC). In this session, Len shares how moving to a BBj-centric web development model accelerated development, reduced complexity, empowered his existing team, and enabled the creation of responsive, contemporary web applications without leaving the BBj ecosystem. Learn how web components, CSS-driven layouts, modern tooling, and the DWC transformed both his products and his development strategy.

DWC is the modern web client for BBj: accessible, themeable, performant, and backed by a complete component library. webforJ extends the same proven DWC client technology to Java through a Java-native API with first-class Spring Boot integration.
DWC and webforJ deliver the same modern web experience—the difference is how you build with them. Teams can continue using DWC and BBj, or leverage webforJ to access Java talent, tools – linters, static analysis, mature IDEs, modern AI coding assistants -, and the broader Java ecosystem.

Modern browser deployment doesn’t have to mean rewriting proven applications. With BBj, you can eliminate Java on the client, simplify deployment, and deliver applications through a standard browser while preserving the investment you’ve already made in your code.
This session explores the two browser-based deployment paths available in BBj and how to choose the right approach for your environment. WEBUI brings existing BBj Swing Thin Client applications—including both GUI and CUI applications—directly into the browser, making it the fastest path for organizations with mixed graphical and character-based interfaces. WEBCUI embeds a terminal emulator within BBj’s modern DWC client, providing an ideal solution for character-based applications, new development projects, and organizations adopting DWC as their strategic user interface platform.

This session will explore and (re-)surface the myriad of application building blocks, old and new, that BASIS has delivered over the years to accelerate and simplify app deployment. From saving application component costs of 3rd-party terminal emulators, email utilities, form designers, data replication and backup utilities to fully-fledged ERP components and most everything in between. We’ll cover translation tools, role-based security menus, custom-queries built in a snap from a Data Dictionary, an error-reporting subsystem, WebAuthn/FIDO2, OAuth, Authentication tokens, Google APIs, the leading JavaScript grid library, a BI Management Decision-enabling Digital Dashboard, a BBj friendly calendar widget and Grafitti, an AI-enabled responsive screen design tool. End User Solution Providers and End Users of Resellers with current SAM maintenance on their primary production license are entitled to a 10% reduction in cost for training and conference attendance.
Partners and Resellers can access their discounted and incentive pricing via the Partner Portal. There are also incentives for bringing your End Users to the conference.
Yes, all attendees are required to register for the conference. You may fill out individual registrations or list all registrants and their details under the name of the attendee designated as the main contact.
BASIS will issue a full refund, less a $20 processing fee, to attendees who cancel in writing on or before September 1st (14 days out). BASIS will not refund any fees for cancellation notices received after that date.
Upon completing the registration form, an invoice will be generated. You can choose to receive an invoice based on established BASIS terms or request a contact to confirm final pricing and discounts.
As for previous virtual TechCons, Airmeet will be used for this conference.
An email confirmation from Airmeet containing your personal URL will be sent to you one week before the conference. This URL will allow you to enter the event seamlessly. Enter the event anytime before the conference starts to complete your profile. You will have the opportunity to participate in several pre-conference polls. Completing your profile and polls awards you points towards the end-of-conference prizes.
Your process to enter the event:
- Click on your unique URL in the invitation to enter the conference page, where you will complete your profile and select [Submit]. You can optionally add the conference to your calendar.
- Select the [Back] button in the top left corner to view the conference page. Here you can view the conference schedule and the session speakers with their biographies. The conference schedule is also available HERE for your pre-planning needs. Select [Enter the Event], and you will be placed in the social lounge.
- Tables in the social lounge are labeled for the scheduled Subject Matter Expert (SME) Zone sessions at the end of the 1st day and at both the start and the end of the 2nd and 3rd days. The tables are inactive and will NOT be manned by BASIS staff until the designated SME Zone times. Networking tables are available for ad-hoc video or audio conversations with attendees. Join a table by clicking on the “Join” button below the table. Please remember to press the ”Leave table” button when you are finished at a table or SME Zone, as places at each table are limited.
- The BASIS staff will be available in the lounge before the conference and during lunch breaks if you need help or just want to chat.
- When the conference sessions begin, you will automatically be moved into the presentation room.
For your best virtual conference experience:
- Use Google Chrome as your browser and test your sound input, output, and video camera.
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Disable VPN/Firewall if ports are blocked.
- If you have difficulty seeing the speaker’s feed, refresh the page/restart browser, and ensure that you close any other video streaming sessions.
- When videos are being shown, click on the “full-screen” button to ensure the best viewing experience.

We recommend that you jump on early to browse and complete your profile. So have your coffee or tea in hand and be ready for a full three days of education and networking.
Yes, once again, BASIS will offer some fabulous prizes! The game for TechCon26 is to collect as many points as possible through the conference. The twenty participants with the highest point totals earn the opportunity to choose their reward from our exclusive prize pool. We will provide additional specifics regarding the available prizes as the conference date approaches.
Points will be earned by:
- Completing your profile
- Participating in polls both pre-conference and during the conference
- Meeting BASIS staff in the lounge
- Attending SME Zones
- Posting useful questions in the Q&A tab during sessions
- Upvoting other attendees’ questions
- Opening or downloading shared resources/documents
- Completing post-session and post-conference evaluations.
