Position description – Software Quality Engineer
This position is responsible for working with software development team members to verify and validate software product releases for BASIS International Ltd. in Albuquerque, NM. It involves the following tasks:
- Perform system and regression testing on software products before approving them for release
- Investigate problems reported by internal and external individuals to validate them before accepting them as bugs
- Create complete and actionable software problem reports (bugs) as the result of an issue being reported
- Communicate and coordinate with software development team members to obtain information needed to verify a problem resolution
- Develop, write, edit, and run automated test cases
- Review software documentation for errors, creating bugs for discovered issues
- Work with the Quality Assurance and management teams to plan and verify software product releases
- Work with the Quality Assurance and management teams to improve the quality of future software product releases
- Complete special projects as assigned
The employee we are looking for has:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a major in: Software Quality, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or any computer-related field. Non-related degree fields may be considered with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, together with these demonstrable skills:

- logical and analytical thinking
- problem solving.
- A 3.3 or higher GPA for degree-related college coursework

- Skilled in using computers and related software applications
- Skilled in data analysis and problem solving
- Skilled in planning and organizing
- Able to review and edit technical documentation for software products
- Able to maintain good working relationships with other employees and customers
- Experienced creating technical documents and emails for a varied audience
It would be nice for you to have:
- Fluency in a spoken and written language beyond English (our products are sold and supported internationally)
- Skill in public speaking (presenting and teaching)
