01204: How to obtain product licenses from two separate BASIS License Managers

Title:

How to obtain product licenses from two separate BASIS License Managers

Description:

The BASIS.lic file is the pointer file to find the BASIS License Manager (BLM). The file is a two line text file containing the following information:

SERVER server1 ANY
USE_SERVER

This file is located in the directory where the Pro5\Vpro5 executable resides or in base install directory for BBj. It must end with.lic file extension.

Multiple pointer license files can be created to point to more than one BLM running on different machines. It will search the files by alpha-numeric file names. As an example, a file named BASIS1.lic will be searched before a file named BASIS2.lic. BASIS1.lic should contain the primary server to obtain license files. Once all available license are checked out from the first server or the first server is unavailable, it will then attempt to check license out from the second server listed in the BASIS2.lic
