Adding a second DNS or LMHOSTS Entry for resolving the HOST name

Description:

Microsoft Proxy server may have a conflict with the PRO/5 Data Server when it attempts to resolve the HOST name.

The symptoms are a very long connection time on the first file open via the Pro5 Data Server.

Resolution:

Add a second entry in the HOSTS file, DNS or LMHOSTS files for the Windows server using the same IP address. Reference this second host name for the PRO/5 Data Server .

Note: If modifying the HOSTS file, remember to include the local workstation’s HOSTS file.
