00886: Moving (V)PRO/5 from one machine to a another

Title:

Moving (V)PRO/5 from one machine to another

Description:

When moving (V)PRO/5 from one machine to another, it is a time when one can consider upgrading to a more current version of the language.  We do recommend fully testing the new version before going live in production.

When choosing not to upgrade, select and download the current BASIS License Manager and your needed version of (V)PRO/5 – using stand-alone pre-Rev 19 bundles:
a. If you are moving the BASIS License Manager to another machine or (V)PRO/5. Uninstall the License Manager and/or (V)PRO/5.
b. Install the BASIS License Manager and/or (V)PRO/5 on the new machine.
d. Register for a new BASIS License via the BLMAdmin wizard.   Use the “Register and install the license automatically” option.
e. When prompted, select the machine running the BASIS License Manager.

When choosing to upgrade, select the current BBx bundle from our website.  The BBx bundles allow one to install all the components with one tool, licensing, BBx, and BBj. Select the bundle you wish to install, Rev <22 includes the BLM, where Rev 22+ uses the BLS. We recommend using the Rev 22+ bundles, as this is the most current and most secure licensing option.  You will find the installation instructions here.
