KB – How to add users to my license

First, contact BASIS Customer Service or your BASIS Account Rep to purchase the additional users.

You can update your license for those new users in two ways.  The quickest is to use the ‘UPDATELIC’ language verb to have your licensing system reach out to BASIS for your new license with the additional users.

If you can get to a language Ready > prompt, execute the following command:

READY       
>UPDATELIC  
>

The UPDATELIC verb will return with either another “>” prompt as above, or it may error. Errors are not always bad.  An ERROR=99 (2 – The requested license was already installed) is one of the possible error messages. The second option is to manually re-register your license using the BLMAdmin or BLSAdmin.

The BLMAdmin and BLSAdmin executables are found in the bin/ directory of your installation directory.  Both bring you to this screen:

Select both License Registration and Stop/Start/Restart, then select NEXT.

Review the registration information, then select NEXT, and NEXT.  On the License Registration and Delivery Methods screen, check the box Register and install the license automatically, and select NEXT.  This will reach out to our license server and register and install the license.

Your next screen is the Stop/Start screen, select “Restart” and then NEXT.
