BASIS License Manager (BLM) log message EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 37 Exit reason 5

Description:

The following error will be seen in the BLM log blmlog.txt or blm.log file.

EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 37 Exit reason 5

2:12:49 (lmgrd) basis exited with status 37 (Communications error)

Resolution:

The BLM is unable to resolve a valid IP address for the hostname.

To verify the hostname get the output of the following from the OS prompt:

hostname

Add an entry like this in your /etc/hosts file that points the hostname returned to the loopback address.

127.0.0.1   localhost my_server1

Restart the BLM after making this change.
