KB – VPRO/5 – Preview Window does not OPEN

The PREVIEW window in this situation is likely on the taskbar and can only be closed with a right click. This typically occurs when the previous PREVIEW was outside the viewable area currently available. To fix this, you need to find the Preview entry in the Windows Registry and edit the location of the window to a location within the current viewable area of the desktop.

Using regedit navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BASIS\Visual PRO/5\<rev>\Print Preview
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BASIS\Visual PRO/5\<rev>\Print Preview
Note that your install of VPRO/5 may write to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BASIS\Visual PRO/5\
The registry key is: Location

You can modify the key and define a visible location on the screen, something like:110, 165, 1070, 859
You can delete or rename <rev> or <user> specific registry entry, and the window will display in the default location.

NOTE: Using REGEDIT should be used with caution, as incorrect modifications can lead to system boot failures and other issues. Only make the specific modifications referenced in this article.
