00120: BBx register dumps on invocation

Title:

BBx register dumps on invocation.  (Rev 2.x)

Description:

BBx register dumps on invocation. This has been seen when the workstation uses a Xircom ethernet card. These are typically found in laptops.

Resolution:

The solution has been to exclude a region of memory in the EMM386 line. It has been documented in past Xircom manuals. Note that using the Windows 95 drivers instead of the Xircom drivers negates the necessity of excluding the memory range. However, some suggested excludes are:

Under Novell: cc00-cdff

Under Windows 3.1: d400-d5ff

From the command line: c800-c9ff
