For “Automatic” copies option: 

alias LP “>lp -n$COPIES -dLP” “printer name” CR,COPIES=1 

>1000 OPEN (7,MODE=”COPIES=3″)”LP” 

If the “MODE=” is not in the OPEN, BBx will then look in the environment for COPIES=x and execute x copies. If COPIES=x is not found in the environment, BBx will default to the COPIES=1 (optional mode) in the alias.
