Description:

Following is an alphabetized list of the reserved words for the BASIS 1.0 16-bit and 1.1 32-bit ODBC Drivers. As these words are reserved, they cannot be used when naming tables or columns in a Data Dictionary. Most of these are pretty explanatory and would never be used as a table or column name, but a couple of them are common enough to cause problems. For example, the DESC keyword is used in SQL to set the sorting order to descending. However, it’s not uncommon for a column to be named DESC as a shorthand for DESCRIPTION. If this is the case, SQL queries involving that column will not execute properly.
