How to find out your BASIS product Serial Number (BLM)

Your product serial number registration sheet is an important document and should be kept in a safe place for future reference. However, there are times when you may not be able to locate this information. Here are alternate methods for determining your product serial number. 

For licenses using the BASIS License Manager (BLM) the following information will help you find your product serial number.  If you are using Rev 22+ of the BBj you will be using the BLS, see the specific KB article for finding your BLS based serial number. (add)

BBj / PRO5 / VPRO5 :

If you are able to get to a READY> prompt, without getting a FLEXlm error message, type the following at the pro5 prompt: 

>print ssn 

If your are getting FLEXlm error message or cannot get to a ready prompt, search the drive for *.lic files. License files are located on the machine that is running the Basis License Manager. Under this is typically in a blm directory, although individual installations may differ. BBj/BBX and PRO/5 license files use the following naming convention: 

25PRO5_DEVPRO512345.lic 

85BBJBBX601234EWF.lic
