Print Preview error “Invalid argument, unable to find path to Metafile”

Description:

Using print preview returns the following error: 

Invalid argument, unable to find path to Metafile 

Resolution:

Check that the environmental variable for the temp directory is set. 
Do not use long file names when setting this variable, use the 8.3 standard for paths. 

As an additional note, turning off long file name support in the Novell client (v.4.8x) can resolve the same problem when working with Novell network. In this case, long file names are still supported through the server and Windows, so it doesn’t need to be set in the Novell Client.
