How to request a Demo License

Description:

Demo serial numbers and authorizations numbers may be requested when installing the BLM/BLS. All demo serial numbers are required to be registered on the specific hardware they will be installed. The demo license is a 5 user 5 day license. A BASIS licensing product such as the BASIS License Manager (BLM ) or the BASIS License Server (BLS) software is required to register all serial numbers.   The revision of the product you install will determine which licensing product you will require.  Revisions 2 through 21 of our language will require the BLM, while any revision 22 or greater will require the BLS.

Vpro5\Pro5 : 

The BLM is a separate download for PRO5\VPRO/5 versions less than Rev 19 and is available from the Products download page.  For the BBx packaging, you have all three components bundled together; BBj, (V)PRO/5 and the BLM or BLS.

During the BLM/BLS installation process, you will be prompted to Register for a BASIS License. Check the box to indicate you would like a Demo 5 user/5 day license. Follow the screen prompts, this process will send us the required information to generate the demo license. Check the box to automatically register and install the license. 

BLM Versions of VPRO/5:

Next, run the “Select the BASIS License Manager” from the VPRO5 program group. Versions of Vpro5 prior to Rev 6.21 or ODBC Rev 3, this option is under the “Install a BASIS License” in the Vpro5 group. Check the box to use the BASIS License Manager. This step is necessary to create the BASIS.lic pointer license file to the BLM. 

For Unix based platforms:

Run the ./install script and choose PRO5 and select the “SERVER” option. This step is necessary to create the BASIS.lic pointer license file to the BLM. 


BBj: 

The BLM is a component in the BBj download and is installed during the BBj installation. 

Run the BBj Admin Wizard , select License Registration Wizard.  Check the box to indicate you would like a demo 5 user/5 day license. Follow the screen prompts, this process will send us the required information to generate the demo license. Check the box to automatically register and install the license.   Stop and Start the BLM via the BBj Admin Wizard\Start Stop BASIS License Manager Wizard. 

Next from the same BBj Admin Wizard, choose the “Select the BASIS License Manager Wizard”. This step is necessary to create the BASIS.lic file to point to BLM. 

BLM 18+ Stand Alone BLM installer:

Admin or BLMAdmin Wizard , select License Registration Wizard.  Check the box to indicate you would like a demo 5 user/5 day license. Follow the screen prompts, this process will send us the required information to generate the demo license. Check the box to automatically register and install the license.   Stop and Start the BLM via the Admin or BLMAdmin Wizard\Start Stop BASIS License Manager Wizard.

Next from the same Admin Wizard, choose the “Select the BASIS License Manager Wizard”. This step is necessary to create the BASIS.lic file to point to BLM.
