Managing a BLM on a Laptop or Mobile Device Where Networks Often Change

Description:

The BLM ceases to accept the users’ licenses when the user changes networks. I.e., installed the license at work and now is using our product at home. Macintosh systems will actually change hostnames as the system joins or leaves networks. 

Resolution:

Configure the license and pointer license (basis.lic) to use 127.0.0.1 instead of a hostname or ‘this_host’ (the license default): 

SERVER this_host COMPOSITE=###### <to> SERVER 127.0.0.1 COMPOSITE=###### 

For the basis.lic, change: 

SERVER hostname ANY <to> SERVER 127.0.0.1 ANY
